Anamorphasis Boot

1. To change the perspective of my picture i used photo shop to make the picture distorted. We stretched the picture up and made it look nothing like what it should.
2.We distorted the image enough that it was still recognisable but not normal. This helped us draw the image so that the viewer would have to wonder.
3. To make this project successful we had to draw a grid to help form the image and add to the optical illusion. This also gave a more three-d effect.

Worst board game EVER

I dont like it because the washes and blending didnt go well. To paint the picture we used watercolors. By using colored pencils after watercolor you could acheive good value and highlights. The perspective of the picture taken worked but I didnt do a very good job drawing it. If I did this project over I would add more shadows and pay more attention to the vanishing points. The difficult part of this project was trying to make your picture look more like the game and getting the gradation right. I learned that it sucks to draw board games because there is too many things that have to overlap and you have to make the things get smaller and darker twords the horizon.

Stencil truck

To make my regular photo into a stensil I had to adjust the positive and negetive space. To make the actual stensil we used Xacto Knives to cut out our shapes. For the background I wanted contrast between my dark truck and my sky. I used light colored spray paint to acheive this. The composition of my background was book pages. All of the book pages put together was a collage. We used photoshop to edit our pictures. I didnt have to change my threshold very much because my picture was already black and white. Positive and negative space was used to make the stencils by helping bring out the detail. When you use the Xacto Knife you have to be very careful. For example, always cut twords yourself or other people, run with the knife, see how sharp it is by licking the blade, and of course pass them to eachother by throwing them across the room... Just kidding, dont do any of that. I enjoted using the spraypaint and there was a lot of colors.

Yawning Ostrich print

  1. I think that my art work ended up being pretty good. It is balanced because of the ammount of darks and lights in the print
  2. I added texture to it by cutting out feather lines and added contrast by putting the blue head right infront of the black sky. It is important because it gives the picture life and value.
  3. I used negative space to show my picture by putting the head in front of the back.
  4. I think that my print turned out pretty good. It could have been a little bit neater but I did add alot of detail.
  5. Yes. I acheived depth by putting the ostrich up front and big and that made the tree and stuff look smaller.
6. I had a good time doing this. The obsacles were things like the difficult cuts. The advantages were getting to use tools and gets hands on expirience.

DAT BE A BIG BACKPACK

While on this team I had an ok time. We didnt really have a team leader and that made it kinda hard. We also had some trouble executing our ideas as a team.

Collaboration is a very important part of being on a team. It is important because without it nothing would be communicated and the drawing would end up lookin like crap.

I feel like this project was pretty succesful. It doesnt look that great but it was a good learning expirience because everyone had a new skill to learn.

I think that its a pretty good idea. If we had a little more time and expirience i think that this would have been awesome. It was cool though to be able to interact with the art and get hands on work.

DAT DEER BE WACHIN YOO

It is important to have texture in your sketches for many reasons. One reason is so that you can see a difference in the animal and the background. It also makes them look more real.
It is neccesary to have a few different references so that you can be sure to get the shapes right. The background references are important so you can accuritly portray the animal there.
Yes I can tell which sketch out of my three is the strongest. I know this because I drew them and I like it the most. It also has the best texture.

Sketchy Things

When I began my drawing I used many different proceses. First I traced the different light and dark values so my picture would have character. After i had finished tracing I colored over the back of my paper with a pencil. Once you I finished this I put my tracing paper down in my sketch book and re-traced it. This left an outline of the face. Then you shade in and give the drawing character.

When I was drawing I found the different values by tracing them on the original photo. When you first traced them it looked really bad and weird. But once you get it all shaded it begins to look like a person.
Yes. I acheved full range of values by shading very dark on the sides and geting lighter as I got further on. In the places where the light was shining I shaded very lightly to give it a shiney look. I also had to shade in diffferent light and dark spaces in the hair.
I think my drawing came out pretty good. It was done pretty neatly but there are smudges. To make it a little neater I erased around it to clean it up some.

The only obsticle I really had any trouble with was the light spots. I had trouble with them because it was hard to get them to blend with the darks. They were also difficult because there were so many of them.
